As the Holy Month of Ramadan draws to a close, the celebrations of Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr mark the end of the time of fasting, with friends, family and communities coming together to celebrate across the city. This year, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE) has curated a number of citywide events, activities and special deals for Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr, including mall activations, raffle draws, live concerts and new gastronomic experiences.
WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS EID IN DUBAI?
Roaming performing arts, traditional live music and cultural dance performances will take place in malls across the city over Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr, including Al Seef, Al Khawaneej Walk, Bluewaters Island, Festival Plaza, Mercato Mall and Nakheel Mall between 4 pm and 10 pm.
Dubai favourites, Modesh and Dana, will also be making an appearance to entertain families at City Centre Deira, The Pointe, Nakheel Mall, Mercato Mall, Circle Mall, Festival Plaza, Town Centre and My City Centre Al Barsha, also between 4 pm and 10 pm during the holiday.
Enjoy the first day of Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr at The Pointe, with celebrations on the water featuring the dancing fountain show and spectacular fireworks at 9 pm. Diners can enjoy special Eid menus at the many restaurants and eateries such as Mongol Ger, offering unlimited hotpot, grills, desserts and more at AED 169 for adults and AED 89 for children. Couples can enjoy an authentic Japanese set menu for AED 500 at KYO Restaurant and Lounge or savour a specially curated grill platter at Il Passagio at AED 299 for two. Celebrate Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr, the sporty way with the UAE's favourite up-and-coming sport at the Padel Park from 6 am to 4 am and avail 20 per cent off for Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr. Concerts & Entertainment
The Dubai Festival City Mall (DFCM) will host a top line of artists, including Nassif Zaytoun and Rahma Riad at a concert in Festival Bay on 3 May. The live music will accompany the immersive, multi-sensory IMAGINE show that uses a blend of fire, water and lasers to wow spectators. There will also be a spectacular firework show on the 2nd day of Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr.
Celebrate Eid in Dubai - Al-Fitr with the beloved Saudi composer and actor Abdul Majeed Abdulla, who will perform live on the Coca-Cola Arena stage on 5 May. The musical show presented by Rotana will begin at 10 pm and will feature the singer's most popular songs.
Enjoy an amazing performance by the Grammy-nominated music producer Steve Aoki, and Billboard award-winning Dutch DJ Afrojack live at the Coca-Cola Arena on 3 May. Doors open at 6 pm, while the show is set to begin at 8 pm. Tickets start at AED 195 and can be booked online at the website.
Shreya Goshal, also known as the nightingale and leading lady of Bollywood, will perform at the Coca-Cola Arena on 7 May at 9 pm. Entry to the arena opens at 7 pm, and tickets starting at AED 120 can be purchased online prior to the concert.
Make sure to catch the epic combination of UK pop sensation Conor Maynard and British-Pakistani pop star Zack Knight for the first time ever at the Coca-Cola Arena on 8 May at 8 pm. Doors to the arena open at 6 pm. Tickets can be purchased online at the Coca-Cola Arena website from AED 100.
Experience the largest food hall to open in the UAE at Time Out Market Dubai in Souk Al Bahar, Downtown Dubai. From 2 to 4 May, guests can take part in an array of interesting activities such as face painting and balloon bending, as well as jam to DJs and live performances alongside culinary experiences curated by the city's best chefs and restaurateurs as part of the Dubai Food Festival (DFF).
On 2 May, Dina Stars will take over the stage with her renditions of popular R&B and contemporary pop songs from 1 pm to 4 pm, followed by some activities for the kids such as face painting and balloon bending from 2 pm to 5 pm. From 8 pm to 11 pm, DJ Dadou, known for his 'open format' style, will spin some unmissable tracks for the evening.
3 May will see DJ Ivo Morello, one-half of Dutch duo the Morello Twins, on the Time Out stage to up the tempo with his electronic tunes from 1 pm to 4 pm, with more kids activities from 2 pm to 5 pm. Later in the evening, international sensation Carl & The Reda Mafia, with members hailing from India, Greece, Egypt and Nigeria, will offer funk and rock tunes from 7 pm to 10 pm.
The last day of the celebration on 4 May kicks off with Canadian-Lebanese singer-songwriter Danny Aridi, performing everything from chart-toppers to classics from 1 pm to 4 pm, with more kids activities to follow from 2 pm to 5 pm. DJ Friezidante will then showcase tracks across hip-hop, afrobeat and R&B to finish off from 8 pm to 11 pm.
Diners will be able to enjoy Dubai Food Festival's Eid Big Breakfast promotion which will run from 2 to 6 May at 24 eateries from restaurants, cafés and eateries across the city. Breakfast offers will include eateries such as Pull & Bear, Caribou Coffee, Gastro Kitchen, Sikka Cafe, Butcha Turkish Steakhouse, Mango People, Asma Restaurant, Novotel Hotel Al Barsha and much more.
