SEHA's Ambulatory Healthcare Services announced on 11 August that seven new drive-through COVID-19 testing centres have opened across the country. The laser-based DPI testing (blood test) is for people wanting to travel to and from Abu Dhabi.

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company said in a statement that during the first phase, the service will be provided at screening centres in Zayed Sports City and Corniche in Abu Dhabi, Al Hili in Al Ain, and at the National Screening Centres in Mina Rashed, Al Khawaneej, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Those wanting to enter the Emirate can do so by booking an appointment for testing using the SEHA app and paying AED 50.

The test results will be available in minutes. If the test result shows that no swab is required, the customer will receive an SMS and will be able to enter Abu Dhabi within 48 hours of the test result.

If however, the test result shows that a nose swab is required, it will be done right away, and the customer will be required to isolate themselves until the result is out.

The drive-through COVID-19 testing centres in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain will operate Saturday to Thursday from 8 am to 8 pm. The Northern Emirates locations will be open seven days a week from 10 am to 8 pm.

More locations will soon be added.
