JUNE 29, 2020 — Only individuals with negative COVID-19 test results within the previous 48 hours shall be allowed entry to Abu Dhabi, according to the new rules announced by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Committee for the COVID-19 Pandemic, in collaboration with the Department of Health - Abu Dhabi, and Abu Dhabi Police.
The coronavirus test results must be presented via the Al Hosn app or through a confirmatory text message from any hospital or any screening centre in the country affiliated with the National Screening Programme. The movement of mail and all types of goods is exempted. Compliance with precautionary measures, including wearing masks and observing physical distancing inside vehicles, shall be enforced. At the moment, workers not based in the city are prohibited to enter Abu Dhabi.
The UAE government has also announced a related policy on the return of residents currently situated outside the country. On a similar vein, all UAE residents with valid residency visas currently out of country should test negative for COVID-19 before they can be permitted to return to the country, according to new rules to be implemented by the UAE government. The COVID-19 test should be taken within 72 hours prior to returning to the country. The said requirement is effective July 1.
