Ramadan Experiences at Habitas AlUla

by Out and About Mag.

Habitas AlUla has set the scene to gather and share moments this Ramadan season. Family and friends are welcome to break the fast and enjoy AlUla's on-site restaurant Tama. Aptly named after the word "here" in Arabic, Tama embodies one of Habitas' core brand experiences, the essence of being present and keeping people in the here and now – in perfect synergy with the spirit of the holy month.

Surrounded by sandstone mountains, evenings can be enjoyed amongst rustic interiors or on the terrace under starlight AlUla night skies. Tama acts as a gathering place, using sustainable agricultural methods to take guests on an unforgettable culinary journey. The dining concept marries Saudi and Middle Eastern cuisine, bringing the unique flavours of Saudi Arabia to life. Ingredients are sourced from local farms in communities surrounding AlUla to bring seasonal, fresh flavours to the table.

Tama will host both Iftar and Suhoor daily throughout the holy month. Specially crafted set Iftar menus will be offered with a selection of mezze dishes from Ejjet al Fallah to hot appetizers including Coconut Shrimp and must-try main courses such as Fish Harra, with tahini, Arabic spices and nuts. Tama will serve an array of homemade sweets, highlighting delectable Umm Ali, a Middle Eastern bread pudding and Mouhalabieh, a delicate milk flan flavoured with orange flowers. In addition, farm-to-table Suhoor menus will be available featuring a selection of fresh juices, warm baked breadtraditional Arabic cheeses, eggs and seasonal fruit.

Launched in November 2021, Habitas AlUla rests within an ancient oasis in the desert canyons of the Ashar Valley, surrounded by sandstone cliffs and palm groves. Habitas AlUla is a true embodiment of the brand's six pillars: music, wellness, adventure, culture, learning, and culinary, all of which are meticulously developed to immerse guests within the region's authentic culture and natural environment. This is illustrated through programming that accommodates art and culture walks, canyon trekking, yoga, meditation and breathwork.
