Etisalat's Market Outside The Box (MOTB)

Etisalat's Market Outside The Box (MOTB) is Dubai's first-of-its-kind, alternative shopping concept. Now in its 10th season and themed around New York City, it is home to a wide variety of local and regional vendors, food kiosks, live entertainment, and more. This year's MOTB is in a brand new location at Dubai Design District and runs from 19 January to 29 January from 4 pm to 10 pm on weekdays, until midnight on Fridays, and from 12 pm to 12 am on weekends.

Lunar New Year

Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit at Ibn Battuta Mall

Kick off the Lunar New Year with a colourful festival for the entire family at Ibn Battuta Mall, the world's largest themed mall, from 20 to 29 January.

The perfect destination to celebrate Chinese New Year, Ibn Battuta Mall will have a variety of engaging activities and roaming entertainment for all. When spending AED 150 at the mall, visitors can create their own jewellery at the unique wire art calligraphy workshop or learn the art of authentic origami making at the origami zodiac workshop (free of charge).

From 20 to 22 January, entertainment will include daily dance performances from America's Got Talent's Video Games Fighters. Head over with the family, make great memories and capture Instagrammable videos of the exciting Chinese parade featuring performers in colourful costumes and accessories, which will roam the mall between 27 and 29 January.

Watch Drone Shows at Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR 

Experience beautiful drone shows at Bluewaters and The Beach, JBR, every night at 7 pm and 10 pm until 29 January. The longest-running drone light show in the region features all-new choreography from the most advanced 3D drones as well as new music composed especially for the performances.

The Hub Food Festival

Enjoy delicious food and beverages at Avenue Mall, Nad Al Sheba, with The Hub Food Festival. Running from 13 January until 29 January, from 4 pm to 11 pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends, the festival is a treat for families wanting to enjoy delectable bites and the amazing Dubai winter weather.

Murder Mystery Dubai

Participate in Murder Mystery Dubai with friends, and show off major sleuthing skills at Al Seef Heritage Hotel on 14 January and 15 January, at 4.30 pm and 7 pm. With tickets at AED 210 per person, the activity also offers spectacular views of Dubai Creek, a refreshing ambience on the hotel terrace, and delicious food and beverages.

Visit Dubai Lights

Visit Dubai Lights as it continues to mesmerise visitors and illuminate some of the city's most iconic spots. At City Walk, ten installations from leading international light artists and studios make up the must-experience exhibition, The Spark Within. At locations across Palm Jumeirah, an immersive underwater theatrical experience awaits visitors with Dubai Lights: Sea Wonder. And the ethereal Sky Castle installation at Dubai Design District (d3) is a dreamy, multi-sensory sound and light artwork by the multi-award-winning Australian-based art and technology company ENESS.

DSF Market at Al Seef

The DSF Market at Al Seef means a packed calendar full of lively activities and unique retail offerings in this delightful Creekside destination. Each week has a themed workshop for kids. This week, workshops cover the theme Cotton and Fabric. Plus, a vibrant market full of knick-knacks, jewellery, clothing, and delectable food and beverages with stunning views makes for picture-perfect memories.

Celebrate the Year of the Rabbit at Dragon Mart

Bring in a year of positivity with the Year of the Rabbit celebrations at Dragon Mart, one of the world's largest trading hubs, from 20 to 29 January.

Families will witness spectacular dragon and lion cultural dance performances every hour from 4:40 pm to 8:55 pm throughout the festive period. Stilt walkers will be walking tall, dressed in traditional costumes to bring smiles to visitors' faces, and a face-changing show will set the mood for the bright and prosperous Chinese New Year.

Dragon Mart will also come alive with attractive art installations across the mall representing the Year of the Rabbit from 20 to 29 January. 

Families can visit the mystic knot booth in Dragon Mart 2 to pick up their free lucky charm knots and have their names written in Chinese by a professional Chinese calligraphy artist. Engage the kids in hands-on workshops from 2 pm to 10 pm on 20 to 22 January and 27 to 29 January, where they can create their very own rabbit-shaped lanterns to take home.

Foodies can also indulge in delicious F&B offerings and a fun shopping spree across over 6,000 shops and kiosks.
