Tips for Sticking to Your Fitness Goals

by Out and About Mag.
Personal trainer MARIUS CRISTIAN shares his tips for sticking to your fitness goals.

The best tip to help you stick to your fitness goals I would say is for you to understand why are you doing it. Otherwise, it’s like being on a road going straight, but you don’t know where you are going. So put in your mind or on a piece of paper - “why?”

Whether your goals include getting that summer body, looking good at the pool or getting healthier, put it down on paper or make a mental list.

My other top tips would be:
  • Clear your fridge and cupboards of all the soft drinks, processed foods and sweets as what you have in the house is what you are most likely to eat.
  • Leave your comfort zone. Stop making excuses ... ‘’I don’t have time! I’m too lazy; too sleepy; too tired; my dog is feeling sick...’’ These excuses will get you nowhere on the fitness journey. If you are serious about your fitness, workout will become a priority. You are unlikely to hear a motivated person making excuses for not working out. Instead, they creating a balance between keeping fit and managing family and work.
  •  Cook your meals at home! You say you don’t have time? Instead of waking up at 8 am every day, wake up an hour early to cook your meals. This way you keep track of what you eat and you know exactly what you put into your body.
  • Get into the gym. Put your headphones on (this is what I do and I turn off the world completely), leave your thoughts and whatever issues you are facing and give the exercise as much as you can.
  • Remember, your body can take a lot of ‘’torture’’... Your mind would be the problem. Try fixing that issue and you will see things changing.
